iMovie Assignment

For this assignment, use iMovie to create a video slideshow of your work from the quarter. Requirements include:

- All applicable work you have accomplished this quarter (Photoshop pictures, B&W photography, photocubism, alphabet, illustrator/ indesign projects, etc)
- Add transitions between pictures for smooth transitions
- Have the entire video timed to music of your choice (school appropriate of course)

There will not be a demonstration for this project. iMovie is a very intuitive program. Open up the program and find your way around. I will be willing to help with any specific questions.

Next Flash Assignment

After you have completed the bouncing ball tutorial, create your own animation with flash. You can still use the ball if you want, but make it more complex. Have it bounce back and forth or off a wall, add a second ball or other object, bounce it into a basket, etc.

Black and White Photos

So far only 3 students have finished and posted their black and white photographs. This assignment will take several days to complete if not yet started and will be marked as missing if not finished by next week! Get your photos taken and developed, and get in the dark room to print them!

CD Case Requirements

For your next assignment you will use InDesign to create a CD cover and label. When you open InDesign, go to templates and choose CD case. The requirements for this assignment are:

- Use the CD cover template, but modify it to fit your custom CD
- Feature some type of modified text. This can include drop shadow, text wrap, typing on a path. etc.
- Include at least one picture that you took and modified in Photoshop or a graphic image you created with Illustrator.
- Create a custom track listing
- Be creative! Add images, colors, text!
- For extra credit, actually create your CD. Burn the track listing at home and bring in a jewel case for you CD and cover.

InDesign Poster Assignment

Your next assignment will be to create an event poster using Adobe InDesign. The poster can be used to promote any event, real or made up, and should include a time and place. Examples include a sporting event, concert, meeting, dinner, etc. For full credit your poster must include the following:


1. A graphic designed with Illustrator.
2. A picture (from photoshop or the web).
3. Text that is wrapped around an object.
4. Choose at least one element of art/design to focus on and be prepared to describe in your poster.

Assignment Update

After completing the questions for the past two days you should still have projects to work on. If you have everything completed or are not sure what to work on next, open up Adobe InDesign and try to get the hang of it. You will be creating two projects with InDesign, an event poster and a CD cover/booklet. I will be back on Wednesday and will explain the details.

Illustrator Button Assignment

Our next assignment is to design a button using Adobe Illustrator. Once it is designed you will be able to physically make the button to keep for yourself. You can use the "Type on a Path" tutorial in the Adobe Illustrator packet to help. The requirements are:
  • The button should be 2.25" in diameter
  • It needs have an image that you create in Illustrator (not just copied and pasted from another source)
  • It needs to have text that follows a path
  • You may include images from other sources if you like, but it is not required.
When finished you should post the image to your blog, then print it out and use the button maker to create your button.
